Founded in 1996, the Los Angeles Sparks play in the Western Conference of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The LA Sparks have won three WNBA Championships (2001, 2002, 2016), remain the only active team in the league to have won back-to-back titles, and enter the 2017 campaign having qualified for the playoffs in 16 of their 20 seasons. The two-time Eastern Conference Champion Atlanta Dream is in its sixth season as part of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA). The Dream is in the playoffs for a fifth consecutive season including back-to-back conference titles in 2010 and 2011. The Dream feature 2013 Peak Performer and All-Star Angel McCoughtry. McCoughtry was also named to the All-WNBA Second Team this season. McCoughtry and guard Armintie Herrington were named to the WNBA All-Defensive First Team. Center Erika de Souza was named to WNBA All-Defensive Second Team. Rookie Alex Bentley was named to the 2013 WNBA All-Rookie Team
